Welcome to SNA Toolbox
Welcome to the SNA Toolbox User Manual.
SNA Toolbox is an all-in-one Social Network Analysis (SNA) platform designed to help organisations collect, analyse, visualise, and operationalise relationship-based data. The platform combines survey data collection, network analysis, interactive reporting, group allocation, and workflow management within a single integrated environment.
This manual provides step-by-step guidance for using the platform’s modules, tools, and features.
What is SNA Toolbox?
SNA Toolbox helps organisations understand how people are connected within a cohort, community, or organisation. In addition to traditional survey insights, the platform enables the analysis of social structures such as:
- Friendship networks
- Support networks
- Collaboration and communication patterns
- Leadership and influence structures
- Cohesion and subgroup dynamics
- Isolation and risk indicators
The platform is designed for schools, organisations, sports environments, research programs, public health initiatives, and other cohort-based environments where relationships influence outcomes.
Core Platform Modules
SNA Toolbox includes several integrated modules that work together throughout the data collection and analysis lifecycle.
Surveys
Create and manage surveys used to collect participant responses and relationship data.
Nodes
Manage entities within a project such as students, staff, teams, participants, or other cohort members.
Relationships
Manage and analyse relationships and connections between nodes.
Networks
Visualise and analyse network structures using interactive graph-based tools and analytics.
Reports
Create dynamic dashboards and interactive reports using collected and analysed data.
Actions
Manage follow-up workflows, interventions, notifications, and operational actions.
Platform Structure
SNA Toolbox organises work into Projects and Panels.
- Projects are the main workspace containers for a customer, cohort, or initiative.
- Panels are isolated datasets within a project that contain surveys, nodes, relationships, reports, and network data.
This structure allows multiple independent datasets to exist within the same project while maintaining separation and organisation.
User Access and Permissions
SNA Toolbox uses a role-based access control (RBAC) system to manage access to projects, modules, and data.
Depending on assigned roles and permissions, users may be able to:
- Manage projects and collaborators
- Design surveys and reports
- Manage participants and survey operations
- Analyse network data
- View dashboards and reports
- Manage actions and workflows
Before You Start
Before using the platform, ensure that:
- You have received access to a project
- Your account has been activated
- You have the required permissions for your assigned tasks
- Your browser and internet connection meet platform requirements
