Live Analytics

The Analytics page displays a live visual summary of survey responses as they are submitted. Each question in the survey is represented as a chart or graph — called a widget — which updates automatically as more students complete the survey. This allows you to spot patterns and trends in the data without waiting for the survey to close.

Navigation

Open your Project → Select your Panel → Click Surveys → Open your Survey Workspace → Click Analytics

The Analytics page only displays data once the survey has been published and at least some responses have been collected. If the page appears empty, the survey may not yet have any submissions.

Reading the Widgets​

Each widget on the Analytics page corresponds to a specific survey question. The chart type used for each widget — bar chart, pie chart, and so on — is determined automatically based on the type of question it represents.

The following controls are available within each widget to help you explore the data:

  • Change Chart Type — Switch between available visual formats for that widget (e.g., from a bar chart to a pie chart).
  • Toggle Labels — Show or hide the data labels and values displayed on the chart.
  • Zoom — Zoom in to inspect a specific part of the chart in more detail.
  • Zoom Reset — Return the chart to its default full view after zooming.
  • Data View — Open the raw data behind the chart in a separate table view.
  • Save as Image — Export the chart as an image file for sharing or record-keeping.
  • Restore Widget — Reset the widget to its original default configuration.

Filtering Widgets​

By default, the Analytics page displays a widget for every question in the survey. If you want to focus on specific questions, use the filter at the top of the page.

  1. Click the filter dropdown at the top of the page.
  2. Select or deselect the questions you want to display — only widgets for the selected questions will be shown.
  3. To return to the full view, click Reset Filter — this restores all widgets to their default size and layout.

Rearranging and Resizing Widgets​

You can customise the layout of the Analytics page to suit your preferences.

To reposition a widget:

  1. Click and hold the drag handle in the top-right corner of the widget.
  2. Drag it to a new position on the page.

To resize a widget:

  1. Drag the bottom-right corner of the widget inward or outward to adjust its size.

Changes to the Analytics page layout are not saved automatically. Click Save in the top-right corner after making any changes to preserve your layout.
