School Report

Once data collection is complete, SNA Toolbox generates an interactive report and shares it with your school. This report brings together the findings from your students' survey responses — presenting them as network diagrams, wellbeing scores, charts, tables, and insight panels that together tell the story of your cohort's social and wellbeing landscape.

This section of the School Guide is your companion for reading and using that report. It walks you through every page of the report, explains what each section and widget shows, describes how to interact with the data, and helps you interpret what you are seeing so you can take confident, informed action.

What Kind of Report Is This?

Your report is not a static document. It is a live, interactive experience — each page is made up of widgets that respond to your actions. You can filter data by class, search for individual students, switch between relationship types, explore network diagrams, hover over charts for more detail, and sort tables to surface the students who need the most attention.

The report is built around three levels of analysis:

  • Year-level views — Aggregated scores and network data that show the overall health of the cohort, allowing senior leaders to identify broad patterns and concerns.
  • Individual student views — Detailed profiles showing each student's wellbeing scores, social connections, emotional indicators, and flags for follow-up.
  • Thematic dashboards — Focused pages covering specific areas such as masculinity attitudes, student culture, peer influence, and comment sentiment.

What You Will Find in This Section

This section contains a dedicated guide for each page of the report. Each guide explains:

  • The purpose of the page and when to use it.
  • The widgets and sections on the page, what they show, and how to read them.
  • The interactions available — filters, tabs, search, sorting, tooltips, network controls, and more.
  • How to use the page — what the data means in practice and what actions it might prompt.

The pages in this section follow the same order as the report itself:

  • How to Read Your Report — A guide to the report's structure, what each area tells you, and how to navigate it based on your role or question.
  • Opening Pages — The report's cover page and table of contents, and how to get started.
  • Year Level Dashboard — Cohort-wide wellbeing scores and social network statistics.
  • Student Dashboard — Individual student wellbeing profiles, emotional indicators, and personal networks.
  • Masculinity Dashboard — Year-level and individual analysis of masculinity norms and attitudes.
  • Masculinity Attitudes Student Watchlist — A ranked list of students with elevated scores on masculinity attitude indicators.
  • Student Culture — Values, friendship networks, and belonging and support data.
  • Action Dashboard — A prioritised overview of students requiring follow-up.
  • Student Comment Analysis — Sentiment analysis and key themes from open-ended student responses.
  • Year Level Wellbeing Snapshot — A multi-tab summary of wellbeing and attitude data across the year group.
  • Year vs Benchmark — Your cohort's scores compared against a national reference population.
note

Your report is read-only. You can interact with and explore the data freely, but you cannot edit the report content or layout. If you believe something in the report requires correction, contact your SNA Toolbox project administrator.

Accessing Your Report

When a report has been shared with your school, you will receive an email notification containing a direct link. You can open the report from that email at any time, or access it by logging in to SNA Toolbox directly.

To open the report from within the platform:

  1. Open the relevant Project.
  2. Select the Panel associated with your school.
  3. Click Reports in the left sidebar.
  4. Click the report card to open it.
tip

Bookmark the report link from your notification email for quick access during staff meetings or wellbeing reviews. You do not need to log in to the platform each time if you access it via the direct link.

The report is organised into a series of pages, each designed to present a specific area of analysis — year-level insights, individual student data, wellbeing indicators, or comparative findings. The report begins with a Cover Page, followed by a Table of Contents page that provides quick access to all report sections.

Moving Between Pages

Navigation controls are displayed at the bottom of every page:

  • Click the left arrow ( ‹ ) to go to the previous page.
  • Click the right arrow ( › ) to go to the next page.
  • The name of the current page is shown next to the arrows so you always know where you are in the report.
  • The current page number and total page count (e.g., 3 of 12) are displayed in the bottom-right corner.

Using Buttons Within Pages

Some pages contain buttons or navigation links that trigger an action when clicked. These may navigate you to another page in the report, show or hide certain elements on the current page, or open an external link.

Buttons are labelled to indicate what they do. When you move your mouse over a button, the cursor changes to a pointer — this is the signal that the element is clickable.
