Partitions
Partitions allow you to create subsets of your network data by selecting specific node types and applying filters. This helps you focus on relevant groups of nodes and their relationships for more targeted visualisation and analysis.
By default, a Default Partition is available, which includes all nodes and relationships within the current panel. You can create additional partitions to define custom networks based on selected node types and filtering criteria.
There is no autosave feature for Partitions changes. Click Save regularly while working with partitions in the Networks module.
Access the Partitions Panel
- From the left-side toolbar, click the Partitions icon — the Partitions panel opens with the Default Partition displayed and enabled by default.
Create a Partition
- In the Partitions panel, click + New.
- Enter a Label for the partition.
- Add node types:
- From the Node Type dropdown, select a node type — all its nodes and associated relationships are included in the partition by default.
- Click Add.
- Optionally, add filters to refine the selection:
- Click Add Filter under the selected node type.
- Select a field to filter on.
- Choose an operator based on the field type (e.g., number or string).
- Enter the required value(s).
- Click Create — the new partition is added and can be used as a data subset for further visualisation and analysis.
You can add multiple node types to the same partition by repeating step 3. You can add multiple filters per node type — all filters within a node type use AND logic.
Edit a Partition
- In the Partitions panel, click the three-dot menu next to the partition you want to edit.
- Click Edit.
- In the dialog, update the Label, add or remove node types, and modify, remove, or add filters as needed.
- Click Save in the dialog to apply your changes, then click Save in the Networks module.
Delete a Partition
- In the Partitions panel, click the three-dot menu next to the partition you want to delete.
- Click Delete.
- In the confirmation dialog, click Yes.
You cannot delete the currently active partition. Select a different partition first, then delete the intended one.
