Charts
The Chart Widget is used to visualise and present report data in the form of interactive charts and graphs. It allows you to transform survey data, network data, analytics, and other report data sources into clear visual insights. The Chart Widget supports multiple chart types and data configurations, making it suitable for presenting comparisons, trends, distributions, aggregations, and analytical results within reports and dashboards.
Chart Widget Configuration
When a Chart widget is selected, its configuration options are displayed in the right-side Settings Panel under the Chart tab. Each chart type has its own specific configuration, documented on its corresponding page in this section:
- Line
- Bar
- Pie
- Scatter
- Radar
- Boxplot
- Gauge
- Pictorial Bar
- Word Cloud
- Treemap
Chart Data Configuration Layout
Although each chart type has different configuration options, the Configure Data dialog follows a consistent layout across all chart types. The dialog is divided into two columns:
- Left Column — Used to configure the chart data and settings, divided into two sections:
- Data Source Selector — Defines the data source used to generate the chart.
- Chart Configuration Settings — Controls the visual appearance and behaviour of the chart.
- Right Column — Displays a live Preview of the chart.
If the message "Invalid/Empty Data" appears in the preview area, the chart configuration is incomplete or contains invalid settings or data selections.
