Gauge

The Gauge Chart is used to display a single value or performance result within a defined range. It provides a quick visual indication of progress, score, status, or achievement level using a meter-style chart. Gauge Charts are useful for presenting KPIs, averages, totals, percentages, ratings, or other measurable values in an easy-to-read visual format.

There is no autosave feature for Reports. Click Save regularly while working in the Report Workspace.

Gauge Chart Configuration

  1. Insert a Chart widget and click it to select it.
  2. In the Settings Panel, click the Chart tab and select Gauge from the Chart Type dropdown.
  3. Click Configure Data.
  4. In the left column, configure the following sections:

Data Source Selector

  1. Data Source — Select a data source for the chart. Available items are the data sources (partitions) already added to the report.
  2. Data Type — Select the type of data to use:
    • Nodes — Node-based data such as Node Meta, Node Attributes, and Node Analytics (if analytics have been executed).
    • Graph — Graph-level analytics and metrics.
  3. Filters (optional) — Add filters to limit or refine the data:
    • Click Add Filter.
    • Field — Select a field from Node Meta, Node Attributes, or Node Analytics.
    • Operator — Select the filter operator.
    • Value — Select the filter value.
    • To delete a filter, click the delete icon on the filter row.
note

The Graph data type is only available if analytics have been executed on the selected data source.

Chart Configuration Settings

  1. Aggregation Method — Select how the chart value is calculated from the selected dataset. Once selected, the Field option becomes available. Additional notes for specific methods:
    • Expression — Create a custom equation using available Node Meta, Node Attributes, and Node Analytics values.
    • Correlation / Covariance — Requires selecting an additional Compare Field from Node Meta, Node Attributes, or Node Analytics.
  2. Field — Select the field to use from Node Meta, Node Attributes, or Node Analytics.
  3. Min and Max — Define the minimum and maximum range values for the gauge. Values are automatically populated based on the selected field data but can be adjusted manually.
caution

The Max value cannot be set lower than the actual maximum value in the dataset. The Min value cannot be set higher than the actual minimum value. This ensures the gauge range accurately represents the data.

  1. Visualise by Percentage — Display values as percentages relative to the configured Min and Max range.
  2. Color by Value — When enabled, custom colours are applied based on the values displayed on the chart. To configure:
    • Enable Color by Value.
    • Click Add Color Stop.
    • Enter an Upper Bound value.
    • Select a colour for that value range.
note

Color by Value applies to all series in the chart and overrides any custom series colours.

  1. Series — Click Add Series to add one or more gauge series. Each series represents a separate gauge layer or value visualisation. For each series, configure:
    • Field — Select one of the following field types:
      • Total — Applies the aggregation method to all nodes in the dataset.
      • Each Row — Applies the aggregation method individually to each row.
      • Node Meta / Node Attributes / Node Analytics — Groups nodes based on the selected field, then applies the aggregation method to each group.
    • Series Title — Custom label for the series. If left empty, a title is generated automatically based on the aggregation method and field.
    • Color — Enable to assign a custom colour to the series.
  2. Click Apply.

Decimal Precision

Set the number of decimal places displayed for chart values and tooltips.

Multi-View

Enable Multi-View to display multiple Gauge Charts within the same widget.

  • Grid Size — Define how many Gauge Charts are displayed per page:
    • 2 × 1 — 2 charts in 1 row.
    • 2 × 2 — 4 charts in a 2-by-2 grid.
    • 3 × 3 — 9 charts in a 3-by-3 grid.

When the number of charts exceeds the selected grid size, pagination controls appear to navigate between pages.
