Radar
The Radar Chart is used to compare multiple numerical indicators across one or more data series. Each indicator is displayed as an axis extending from the centre of the chart, and the plotted shape represents how the selected data performs across those indicators.
There is no autosave feature for Reports. Click Save regularly while working in the Report Workspace.
Radar Chart Configuration
- Insert a Chart widget and click it to select it.
- In the Settings Panel, click the Chart tab and select Radar from the Chart Type dropdown.
- Click Configure Data.
- In the left column, configure the following sections:
Data Source Selector
- Data Source — Select a data source for the chart. Available items are the data sources (partitions) already added to the report.
- Data Type — Select the type of data to use:
- Nodes — Node-based data such as Node Meta, Node Attributes, and Node Analytics (if analytics have been executed).
- Graph — Graph-level analytics and metrics.
- Filters (optional) — Add filters to limit or refine the data:
- Click Add Filter.
- Field — Select a field from Node Meta, Node Attributes, or Node Analytics.
- Operator — Select the filter operator.
- Value — Select the filter value.
- To delete a filter, click the delete icon on the filter row.
The Graph data type is only available if analytics have been executed on the selected data source.
Chart Configuration Settings
Radar Charts are configured in two steps: Set Indicators and Set Series.
Step 1: Set Indicators
Indicators define the axes of the Radar Chart. Each indicator represents a numerical value compared across the chart. Three indicators are available by default.
Add an indicator: Click Add Indicator and configure the following:
- Field — Select the field to use as an indicator from Node Meta, Node Attributes, or Node Analytics.
- Max — Define the maximum value for the indicator axis (default: 10).
- Title — Enter a custom title for the indicator axis.
Delete an indicator: Click the delete icon next to the indicator.
After configuring the indicators, click Next to continue to Step 2.
Step 2: Set Series
Series define how indicator values are displayed and compared on the Radar Chart. At least one series must be added for the chart preview to display.
Add a series: Click Add Series and configure the following:
-
Field — Select one of the following field types:
- Total — Displays aggregated values calculated across all nodes. Configure:
- Aggregation Method — The aggregation method applied to indicators across all nodes.
- Title — Custom title for the series displayed in the chart tooltip and legend.
- Each Row — Displays indicator values for every individual node as separate radar shapes. Configure:
- Label — Select a field from Node Meta, Node Attributes, or Node Analytics to use as the label for each node in the tooltip. If no label is selected, the default label Radar is used.
- Node Meta / Node Attributes / Node Analytics — Groups and aggregates radar data based on the selected field values. Configure:
- Aggregation Method — The aggregation method applied to the selected indicators for the grouping field.
- Total — Displays aggregated values calculated across all nodes. Configure:
-
Series Customisation — Configure styling for the radar visualisation:
- Base Color — Primary colour used for the series.
- Line Style — Customise the radar outline: Type, Width, and Custom Color (when enabled, overrides the Base Color for radar lines).
- Area Style — Customise the filled radar area. Two modes are available:
- Solid — Solid fill style:
- Color by Value enabled — Automatically applies colours based on calculated values. Configure Aggregation Method (Sum, Average, or Max), Offset (colour offset range), and Color.
- Color by Value disabled — Choose a single colour for the entire radar area.
- Gradient — Gradient fill style. Configure Gradient Type (Linear or Radial) and one or more colours. A single colour produces a solid fill; multiple colours produce a gradient effect.
- Solid — Solid fill style:
-
Delete a series: Click Remove for that series.
-
Click Apply.
Decimal Precision
Set the number of decimal places displayed for chart values and tooltips.
Multi-View
Enable Multi-View to display multiple Radar Charts within the same widget, useful for comparing multiple nodes, groups, or series side-by-side.
- Grid Size — Define how many Radar Charts are displayed per page:
- 2 × 1 — 2 charts in 1 row.
- 2 × 2 — 4 charts in a 2-by-2 grid.
- 3 × 3 — 9 charts in a 3-by-3 grid.
When the number of charts exceeds the selected grid size, pagination controls appear to navigate between pages.
Title
Configure the chart title and subtitle:
- Title — Main title displayed on the chart.
- Secondary Title — Optional subtitle displayed below the main title.
- Vertical Align — Vertical position of the title.
- Horizontal Align — Horizontal position of the title.
- Font — Title font family.
- Font Size — Title text size.
- Font Weight — Title thickness/style.
- Color — Title text colour.
Legend
Configure the chart legend appearance and position:
- Vertical Align — Vertical position of the legend.
- Font — Legend font family.
- Font Size — Legend text size.
- Font Weight — Legend text thickness/style.
- Color — Legend text colour.
- Symbol Size — Size of legend symbols/icons.
Shape
Define the overall shape of the Radar Chart grid:
- Polygon — Displays the radar grid using polygon shapes based on the number of indicators.
- Circle — Displays the radar grid using circular rings around the centre point.
Split Area
Customise the background split areas of the Radar Chart grid. By default, two split area colours are included.
- Add a colour — Click Add Color. Each configured colour is applied alternately across the radar grid areas, creating layered visual sections.
- Remove a colour — Click the delete icon next to the colour.
Split Lines
Show or hide the split line borders between Radar Chart areas. When enabled, border lines are displayed between each split area section, helping to visually separate chart levels and improve readability.
Axes
Customise the appearance of Radar Chart axis labels and lines:
- Lines — Show or hide the axis lines connecting the chart centre to each indicator.
- Font — Font style used for axis labels.
- Font Size — Size of the axis label text.
- Font Weight — Thickness of the label text (e.g., Regular, Medium, Bold).
- Font Color — Colour used for axis labels.
Symbols
Customise the appearance of Radar Chart data point symbols:
- Shape — Symbol shape used for chart points.
- Size — Size of the symbols displayed on chart lines and indicator points.
