Table
The Table Widget allows you to display structured data in a tabular format within a report. It can be connected to report data sources to present rows and columns of information from surveys, network data, analytics, and other datasets. The widget provides customisation options for columns, formatting, styling, pagination, sorting, filtering, and data presentation.
There is no autosave feature for Reports. Click Save regularly while working in the Report Workspace.
Table Widget Configuration
- Insert a Table widget and click it to select it.
- In the Settings Panel, click the Table tab, then click Configure Data.
The configuration dialog is divided into two sections:
- Data Source Selector — Defines the data source used to generate the table.
- Table Configuration Settings — Controls the visual appearance and behaviour of the table. Available settings vary depending on the selected data type.
Data Source Selector
- Data Source — Select a data source for the table. Available items are the data sources (partitions) already added to the report.
- Data Type — Select the type of data to use in the table:
- Nodes — Node-based data such as Node Meta, Node Attributes, and Node Analytics (if analytics have been executed).
- Graph — Graph-level analytics and metrics.
- Ties — Relationship data between nodes.
- Filters (optional) — Add filters to limit or refine the data used in the table:
- Click Add Filter.
- Field — Select a field from Node Meta, Node Attributes, or Node Analytics.
- Operator — Select the filter operator.
- Value — Select the filter value.
- To delete a filter, click the delete icon on the filter row.
The Graph data type is only available if analytics have been executed on the selected data source.
Table Configuration Settings
Data Type: Nodes
When Data Type is set to Nodes, three Table Modes are available:
- Each Row — Displays individual records as separate table rows.
- Top K — Displays the top results based on sorting and ranking conditions.
- Aggregation — Displays grouped and aggregated data values.
Table Mode: Each Row
- ID Field (Mandatory) — Select the field used as the unique identifier for nodes. The selected field must contain unique values for each node. Available from Node Meta, Node Attributes, or Node Analytics.
- Compare With — Configuration option for comparison data.
- Sort By — Select the field used to sort table rows. Available from Node Meta, Node Attributes, or Node Analytics.
- Decimals — Controls the default number of decimal places for numerical values.
- Sort Order — Select the sorting direction.
- Header Config — Defines the main identifying columns displayed for each node:
- Title (Mandatory) — The primary identifying column. Enter a custom Label for the column title.
- Subtitle — The secondary identifying column. Enter a custom Label for the column title.
- Avatar — Select a field containing image URLs to display avatars. If configured, the Avatar column becomes the first column in the table.
- Columns — Add additional data columns displayed after the Header Config columns:
- Click Add Column to create a new column. Configure:
- Value — The data field to display. Available from Node Meta, Node Attributes, or Node Analytics.
- Title — Custom column title.
- Description — Optional column description.
- Decimals — Number of decimal places for this column.
- To delete a column, click the delete icon on the column.
- Click Add Column to create a new column. Configure:
- Click Apply.
If the same field is selected in both Header Config and Columns, the Columns entry is ignored and only the Header Config column is displayed.
When configuring a table, three view modes are available: Grid View, Card View, and Chip View. See Table View Modes below for details.
Table Mode: Top K
- ID Field (Mandatory) — Select the unique identifier field for nodes.
- Decimals — Controls the default number of decimal places for numerical values.
- Sort By (Mandatory) — Select the field used to sort and rank table rows.
- Field Title — Enter a custom display title for the Sort By column.
- Show Column — When enabled, the Sort By column is displayed in the table.
- Label Field — Select a field whose values act as labels for each row.
- Field Title — Enter a custom display title for the Label column.
- Rank Column — Enabled by default. Displays the ranking order based on the Sort By field.
- Field Title — Custom title for the Rank column (default: Rank).
- Show Column — When enabled, the Rank column is displayed.
- Row Limit — Defines the number of rows to display. This is the K value for Top K or Bottom K results.
- Sort Order — Determines whether the table displays Top K or Bottom K results based on the Sort By field.
- Click Apply.
Table Mode: Aggregation
- Group By Field — Select a field used to group nodes. Nodes sharing the same value for this field are grouped together. Available from Node Meta, Node Attributes, or Node Analytics.
- Decimal Precision — Controls the default number of decimal places for all numerical values.
- Columns — Define one or more aggregation columns displayed after the Group By column:
- Click Add Column to create a new column. Configure:
- Aggregation Method — Select the aggregation method to apply to the value field.
- Value — Select the field on which the aggregation method is applied.
- Title — Custom column name.
- Description — Optional column description.
- Decimals — Number of decimal places for this column (overrides the default Decimal Precision).
- To delete a column, click the delete icon on the column.
- Click Add Column to create a new column. Configure:
- Click Apply.
Data Type: Graph
When Data Type is set to Graph, graph-level analytical values are displayed in the table. Analytics must be executed on the dataset in the Networks module before graph analytics values are available.
Columns — Define one or more graph analytics columns:
- Click + Add Column. For each column, configure:
- Value — Select a graph-level analytical value. Available values are grouped by relationship type and depend on the analytics executed.
- Title — Custom column name.
- Decimals — Number of decimal places for this column.
- Description — Optional column description.
- To delete a column, click the delete icon on the column.
Data Type: Ties
When Data Type is set to Ties, the table displays relationships between nodes. Relationship connections are displayed as chips inside their respective relationship-type columns.
- Nodes to Include — Determines which connected nodes are displayed based on their relationships:
- Outgoing Nodes — Only outgoing relationships (the node in the row has a relationship directed toward another node).
- Incoming Nodes — Only incoming relationships (another node has a relationship directed toward the node in the row).
- Reciprocated — Only reciprocated relationships where both nodes are connected to each other.
- All Nodes — All connected nodes including both incoming and outgoing relationships.
- Exclude Empty Nodes — Exclude nodes that have no relationships with other nodes.
- Bidirectional Filtering — When enabled, values selected in a Data Filter widget (if available on the same slide) apply to both source and target nodes within relationships. When disabled, the filter applies only to the node in the first column.
- Hide Network Titles — Hide network titles when using Card View mode.
- Label Field — Select a field from Node Meta or Node Attributes to use as the label for each row.
- Relationship Sections — All available relationship types are listed as separate sections. Each can be enabled or disabled. For each relationship type, configure:
- Label — Custom name for the relationship type column.
- Color — Custom colour for chips displayed within the column.
Table View Modes
Table widgets support multiple view modes to display data in different layouts. You can switch between view modes to change how rows, nodes, and values are presented.
Grid View
Displays the table in a traditional row-and-column layout.
- Column Descriptions — If a description is added to a column, it appears as a tooltip when hovering over the column title. An asterisk (*) is displayed next to the column title to indicate a description is available.
- Empty Data Message — Custom message displayed when the table has no data.
- Search Field — Adds a search field above the table using fuzzy matching across all displayed values.
- Show Header — Enable or disable table column headers.
- Reset Column Widths — Resets all columns to their default fitted widths.
- Default Text Font Style — Customise default text appearance using Font Family, Font Size, Font Weight, and Font Color.
